Bruce Savage (enrolled member of the Fond du Lac Band of Ojibwe) and his wife Tawny (enrolled member of Pyramid Lake Paiute) began their family supported business called Spirit Lake Native Farms in 1999 on the southwestern corner of the Fond du Lac Ojibwe Reservation in Sawyer, MN. They are one of very few Indigenous run businesses that specialize in Native wild rice and pure maple syrup production. Their farm is managed by generational food producers and harvesters.
